James Drife

The 1934, the Church called the Revd. J.C. Drife from Langholm. He was a hardworking, conscientious pastor who was devoted to the care of his church. This quiet man, who was highly esteemed and loved by the Church and community, was an unwavering preacher of the gospel.

Many in our town will still remember his daughter, Miss H Drife, who taught languages in Cumnock Academy for many years. Miss Drife was also a much loved and devoted member of our church, singing in the church choir and teaching in the Sunday School and Bible class.
