Our Mission

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

In Matthew 28, Jesus gives the church a Mission statement! As a church, our job is to tell what Jesus did, teach the truths of the faith and equip all in our fellowship for ministry too.

To prepare our church for mission our aims, like the early church, include:

  • Teaching : Faithful bible teaching to equip all within the church to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • Fellowship: Meeting together to encourage and help each other in our evangelism together.
  • Breaking of bread: Celebrating communion regularly to remember Jesus' sacrifice and to tell others of Jesus' death until he comes again.
  • Prayer: Commitment to praying for each other, our community and our world.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Acts 2:42

We recognise that we all have a part to play in mission both at home and abroad.

At home, we offer a range of weekly ministries for our members and local community as well as organised outreach events. The church also has ministerial access to local primary and secondary schools and sees this as an important aspect of outreach to young people.

Our website, Facebook page and YouTube channel have no geographical limits in sharing the Gospel and we also support other worldwide Christian ministries both with prayer and financially.

A Mission Committee, appointed by the Church, seeks to maintain the essential spreading of the Gospel in all areas of church life.  Our awareness for mission is our motivation and to bring people to faith and an understanding of the Grace of our Lord Jesus.

We do not do this on our own strength. It is the power of the Holy Spirit and with this presence of the Living God that fuels and enables this commission to go forth as Jesus commanded.
